For me nothing surprising.
I almost walked out with mis-scanned video card. Not once at register got such "deals" as drdeath .
I don't know how they hire people and where from do they get such "emploeyees".CompUSA still making money by selling sub-computers like Packard Hell, Compaq etc.
No wonder they laying off 1800.
I got similar "deals" also in Micro Center too.
About rebates? You may receive even extra checks . Believe me, I know.

dr death,
I went sunday and got the same 2 32mb pc100 dimms at compusa, except the clerk gave me he pny stuff and they were advertising their generic brand. After looking at all the rebate coupon and UPC codes, I realized they gave me the wrong one. I tried to tell them it was the wrong one and exchange it. The return/exchange clerk claimed its the correct one and I should recieved the rebate money back. After I realized I will never get my rebate money back cuz it's the wrong product for the rebate, I went back and returned it. Off I went across the street to Best Buy, and got the exact same PNY chips also for $20/stick after the rebate, this time with the correct UPC codes and rebate coupon.
The funny part about it for $20 per 32mb stick, sandra recognize it as cas2 with access time of 5ns. Could this correct? Am I reading it wrong??

Killerbug,
I have this sinking feeling that you are right. We'll see later if its really that cheap of a memory chip. Hopefully it's good for at least "normal" underclocked operation. I'm getting "wierd" things since I plugged this chips in. None with my 64mb cas2 stick from corsair. Can't verify yet if its the main cause.
Boy, sandra sure told me I had a good deal on my hand. Lesson learned.

No, you actually have some good memory there. I don't believe the 5ns part, but your mobo will default it to CAS2 and it does run very well. Probably got the Siemens modules.

Yes I do have the Siemens chips. I put the 32mb chips on different slots, made sure had cas2 on my bios. So far so good with 1 1/2 hr of playing games and now surfing. Yesterday it would lock up on window 98 splash screen. This is on a 366@550 2.2v running rc5 for at least 7 weeks almost 24/7. Now a lock-up with the chips newly installed. I think I put the bios on cas3 prior to the lock up. I did not change anything else.
