Anyone know where i could pick up a old 486 with CDROM and a 300+ HD. I need it to run a small linux server on, if any of you have a 486 your willing to sell for like less than 100, id be happy to take it off your hands probably

while i've never ordered from these guys, so i cant comment on the service, but this website seems to have good prices on older systems. http://www.computerstrippers.com/ I'm thinking about ordering a slow pentium from them for the same purpose as you.

I have a 486 dx2 (66) siting in my closet no cdrom just board and chip. If interested and you live in the CT, USA area please answer I like to get rid of it. I will give you a HDD controller card and a Hard drive if I can find a big enough one.

Well thanks for the offer, but just today I convinced my computer teacher to give up a 400meg and 300meg IDE Harddrives, a DX2-80 AMD board+chip, and an old case, I can get the rest cheap, now the real problem is my network...
