    Importing Hotmail to Outlook 2000

Okay, stupid question here. I used to be able to check my hotmail with Outlook 97, but I cannot in Outlook 2000. I have to use Outlook express, or actually log on to MSN.

Has anybody figured out a workaround for this?

I don't believe that Outlook 2000 will let you check Hotmail. Sorry.

well you could always try a work-around for it. you can view your hotmail in outlook by creating a Hotmail folder and then associating a web view of the folder that points to the hotmail website. this actually works for any web based email, although most of them provide pop service so the following is not really necessary for them.
    steps:

on the View menu, click Folder List to turn the folder list on.

right click on Outlook Today and choose New Folder and name it Hotmail and click OK. you should see a Hotmail folder in your folder list at this point.

then you just have to associate the new Hotmail folder with the website.

in the folder list, right click on the Hotmail folder that was just created and then click Properties.

go to the Home Page tab and type in http://www.hotmail.com in the Address box.

click the option 'show home page by default for this folder' and then click OK.

after doing this, when you click on the Hotmail folder in your folder list you'll be able to log in to your hotmail. also, if you want to add a Hotmail folder shortcut to the Outlook bar you can just drag the Hotmail folder into the bar ... just FYI.
