Good place to learn about system files?

Does anyone know of a good site or printed book that explains things like system files (i.e your *.bat, *.sys, *.ini, *.dll files) for win9x,Me,2k?

I want to become more proficient in managing my systems resources and knowing what is loaded at boot-up. Many people live oblivious to "whats goin on under the hood" and I dont want to be one of em.

    Hi
    You could try www.regedit.com (www.winguides.com)

They don't really have explanation but quite a few tips and trick with some of the system files. But this is a good place to learn.

    Hope it helps!
