    Microsoft Office XP "standard"

Get this! Microsoft is now offering a rebate on their Office XP "STANDARD" (Which BTW costs $475)...

I don't think I'm the only one who thinks this is extremely excessive... You can't tell me that that stupid "suite" is worth $475...

I think we should start a petition to lower Microsoft Product's Prices (after all, I can build a great system for that price, and overall, I would rather do that with the $$$)

Supply and demand. They have the supply, so they can demand outragious money. Just don't buy it.

I agree...If you think it's overpriced, then don't buy it.

I've got Office2000 on this machine, but Office97 on my other one. For what I do, there's not $0.02 worth of difference between the two versions, and I doubt that OfficeXP offers any revolutionary improvements either.

Oh .... except that cute little "product activation" thing that's gonna require you to convince a MS rep that you're not pirating software everytime you upgrade you PC.
