Office 2000 behavior
Using MS Office 2000:
Is there a way to stop the lil’ clipboard window from popping up on my screen every time I Ctrl-C (copy) text in Word? I close it but it pops back up the next time I Ctrl-C and clutters up my screen.
Also, opening multiple files in Word (or Excel) will open multiple sessions of the app, filling up my toolbar and desktop with unnecessary buttons and app windows. Is there a way to only open one session for multiple files as Office 98 did?
I liked the way Office 98 behaved in some respects much better.
To hide the clipboard->Click on View->Toolbars and UNCheck clipboard.
And the multi file thingie is a "feature" of office 2000 that won't/can't go away.
I went back to Office 97 for Word and Excel - months ago (not 98 as stated above, oops), and then installed just Outlook 2000 from Office 2000. But I have an occasional (rare but it does happen once in a while) crash of Word or Outlook, and I always think its because of the two different versions of Office components.
Those new “features” bugged the **** out of me. If I recall correctly, (and i could be wrong, me forget sometimes) i would uncheck the clipboard in the toolbars menu, but it would recheck itself and pop up again every time I Ctrl-C.
Another feature i thought was annoying is the pull-down menu’s, how you would have to click them twice to see the full menu... aaaaah progress. :\
