Windows ME Error
I am running Windows ME and am constantly getting a pop up error on my screen when I connect to the internet. It keeps returning as long as my connection lasts. The error reads "GetLastError" on the header and "Access is denied" in the body. That's it, it doesn't give any more information. Of course help is no help, need some suggestions.

MODEM ERROR/APPLICATION CONFLICT
===============================
There are several things that could be implimenting this type of error-
+ You and/or your ISP has a bad connection to the internet.
+ Windows ME's Internet Settings conflict with the browsers
+ Your modem properties have been altered (probably due to the ME installation)
+ The drivers for your modem are outdated by Windows ME
I know very little about "connections" to the internet, except that I want the fastest one out there. These are troubleshotting tips I have collected from years past from my own experience.
Hope this helps,

More info: do you use a proprietary dialer? Are you able to delete stuff, reinstall and reconfigure? If so, you can start at the 'top' and work down.(Dialer, DUN connection, modem, windows networking.) Try d/l a free service like Excite and see what happens. What browser are you using? I keep both MS and Netscape configured to see if a problem is browser related.
