Windows 2k shutdown help....PLEASE
Can someone tell me how to enable windows 2k to shutdown completely? It's an ATX case and used to shutdown on it's on with 98. When i clicked shutdown, it used to just power off by itself, and now it says it's safe to turn off ur computer. Is there any way i can fix that? This is an installation for someone else. My computer is a very similar power supply, ATX, same specs, and mine shuts down all the way. Please help. thanks in advance.

Thanks alot NDC. It just so happens that last night i tried checking off advanced power management support in the power options. This enabled it to shut down, but it took a long time, I used the site u gave me and added the 1 to enable the power down and it worked great. Thanks alot NDC.

Happy to hear that it solved your problem.

Same problem with ME. Looked in registry -- no such value. Shuts down in safe mode. If I clear all boot-up entries in msconfig, still no shutdown.
