win me upgrade
Hi .i was wondering if anyone could tell me if i upgrade to win me{from win 95} will my software be ok? or will i need patches from the software company? and if so how shuld i go about this? thanks for your help!.

For the most part you should be fine. Some programs might give you some static if they are not current with their updates so I would suggest that you first install any patches that are avaliable for the software that you have and then do the OS upgrade

If you have ME already you could give it a whirl as it comes with an uninstaller option, a friend used the uninstall and it removed almost all of ME and his 98se still works fine. My 98se to ME upgrade on 2 machines went flawlessly and no bugs to report but some games will still crash your system.

This is what CJ told me (thanks) in an email:
The upgrade will install just like a full version it will just ask to
see your Win98 or Win 95 CD to prove that you are eligible for the
upgrade. Just format the harddrive, boot with boot disk and start the
install. It will say to insert your 98/95 cd it will look at it then
tell you to remove the 98/95 cd and reinsert the Win ME cd. Hope this
helps you out.
