Software RAID support in Mandrake 6.0?

Does the Mandrake 6.0 version of Linux support RAID 0? I know Red Hat 6.0 does, which is what Mandrake is suppose to built on.

In setting up software RAID, do the IDE HD's have to be the latest technology such as ATA-33 or ATA-66 drives, or can I use older IDE's? I am looking into getting a couple of cheap 1.2 gig HD's. What is the minimum amount of drives necessay for a RAID 0 setup?

    Thanks.

Gordon, I never did try to do it. Thus I would suggest that you visit the Mandrake website at http://www.linux-mandrake.com/en/ From there you should be able to find your answer. You might also visit www.linux-newbie.org As they also have a bbs that is dedicated to linux and they are quite helpful

You might have to recompile your kernel, im not completely sure. Check out links at www.linux.org, Support, HowTos, Software Raid. Also its now http://linuxnewbie.internet.com
