when u format a hdd without uncondition setting the system takes a snapshot of the drive and stores it , am i correct if so where is this file stored and how can i recover it and ideas

Malguru, I have no idea. Perhaps a more sophisticated member can help. though I've seen your unanswered post for several days. Are you sure you did not have, or are not thinking of a program like "Check-It?" Or maybe "FirstAid?" I have not heard of what you're describing and hope someone can help you. I'm curious as well.

i formatted my hard drive after backing up essential files everything worked ok. i found out that i had missed files that are extreemly important to my buisness
i didnt use the unconditional switch (/u)
did the system make a snapshot of the drive or is it gone forever
if it did how can i recover it
mega disaster please help

Well With you Formating the drive and I'm assuming a reinstallation of your OS and files I would say in all probablity all is lost as the area that the files WERE in has been overwritten by the new OS and files that were reinstalled. If NOTHING has been placed back onto the drive then a Utility called "lost and Found" by Powerquest will be able to help recover what you had.
