how many times can you install windows 98?

I am wondering how many different hard drives Windows 98 will let you install it on.
The reason I ask is because I have one PC right now and I am about to build another one and I want to go ahead and buy the OS and put it on both. I heard from a friend that something in the install wizard will only allow the OS to be installed on two different hard drives. If this is the case then what am I supposed to do if one of my hard drives crashes and I have to replace it, will I not be able to install 98 on my new hard drive? Was my friend crazy or did he know what he was talking about, hope somebody knows.

DONT LISTEN TO HIM - HE DOESNT KNOW WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT!!! you can install it as many times as you want - im not sure how many computers you can install it on legally, but there are no physical limitations to the number of computers/hard drives you can install it on.

Your license aggrement says one computer = one install.

There is no such thing on a Win98 CD which counts the number of installs you have made, but if you register multiple copies, then Microsoft will KNOW you stole from them.

If i am correct, it can be on one system at a time, meaning if one system crashes you can install on another, or if you sell your computer, you can wipe the hdd and keep windows, etc.

The only way it could be true if it was a floppy install... like a Office 97 floppy installation I made. It restricted me to only 1 install... but of course I found a little... well turn around

Anyway the CD is read-only and win9x can be installed as many times as you wish.
