    windows log on, how to get rid?

    How do I get rid of that annoying log on box, as windows loads(98)? Thanks.

    If you don't set a password it will automatically boot you into windows without the log in box. If you already have set a password go to control panel password and remove it, if that doesn't work then you could use Tweakui to auto log you in. Removing the "username".pwl list in windows folder should also reset you as a new user which means you can then log in without a password when asked to log in for the first time after reboot.

    there is another way to tweak it too. if you feel comfortable using the REGEDIT utility.
    go to \Hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\cur rentversion\winlogon

    ok, now yhou have to add some string values
    first add a string value and call it DefaultUserName
    then set the value to the userID you use

    next, add the string value DefaultPassword and set the value to your password

    nest, add a DWORD value and call AutoAdminLogon. set that value to 1. it should be in decimal.
    then reboot. it should automatically log you in everytime
