    dma transfer not enabled....how do i enable it?

    hi there. just run sisoft sandra 99 and was told that my dma transfer is not enabled. how do i enable it? or m i missing something? config: quantum ultra dma33 hdd, win98, intel al440lx m/b.

    Start,settings,control panel,system,device manager. Then click the + on disk drives and highlight your hdd. Click on properties,settings then check DMA.

    thanks, pal. what a shame. i know doing that for the cd-rom but not the hdd!!
    the dma transfer is now enabled.

    I just ried the same thing and my computer would not boot up afterwards. I had to reboot iin safe mode and change it back. I have an abit bx6r2.02 mobo and a maxtor 8.4 udma33 hd running win 98. When it boots up the bios says its in ultra dma mode as well as my cdrom, but sandra saysI should enable it. any suggestions?
