    okay...okay....okay...

Now, I have the icon for recycle bin on my desktop, BUT, no "verbage" (words, leters, etc.), beneath it. When I c;ick on it, it does nothing, and when I right click on it, it gives me cut, create shortcut or delete!

So, what's a mother to do? How can I get my recycle bin back? 'Ya know, I've been through so many things going down the microshaft 98 road, I'd just really like to have a good week, or maybe even a month with all working well...

Can any of you help me? I hope so!

    Thanks as always...

    Mike P.

I can't say that I've ever had that problem before.

But, I'll try helping you anyway.

Does the Recycle Bin still exist on your HD?

If so, try deleting the shortcut from the desktop, then create a new shortcut.

    Good Luck!

By the way, when I delete a file from windows explorer, it still asks me if i want to send it to the recycle bin...

Okay, I went to find files/folders. Found C:\Windows\recycled. Created a shortcut on the desktop, and deleted the "old"one. Now it works, but I don't have the option to empty recycle bin now - just select all, the go to file then delete...

Oh well, at least it's there, right?

    Thanks so much...

Hmmm. Maybe you oughta try using TweakUI's rebuild icons feature under repair.

    Just a thought.

    Sounds like another MicroShaft problem!

Fix one thing, something else breaks!

Glad to have been of service, now try Moe's idea for the rebuild icons.

    Good Luck!

At this moment i think you don't have the recycle bin, but a shortcut to the folder named "\Windir\Recycled". There are 2 solutions of which in your case i doubt the first option will do, for your recycle bin is gone. Try it though.
    1) right-click My computer, choose explore
go to your bootdisk and if you see the recycle bin, drag it to your desktop. If it's right explorer would say it could not create a shortcut, copy instead? say yes!

    2) You need to create a folder on your desktop call it
    "somename.645FF0405081101B9F0800AA002F954E"

If this does not work then your registry-keys concerning the recycle-bin are deleted or corrupt. Reinstall it.
