Linux progy compiling problems
I keep having the same compiling problems with a lot of small software programs. While big programs work flawless.
Most of the time after I run './configure' it finds gcc then goes searching for other C++ compilers (including g++). When it doesn't find them, it says that there isn't a C++ compiler present. Maybe I can find a easy hack to fix this.
Some times I get this error. Can't find the X includes. Even after I point it to every include dir on the /usr drive. This is probably me not finding the right include dir. So if any one knows were it would be on a RH 6.0 install. Please point me to the obvious dir.
I now see RPMs as pure golden gravy. Too bad they arn't as upto date as the source versions.
Also I am stuck in 8 bit color depth. I have tried many different things (inc. rdev) and searched most of the X11 dirs. Without any working solution. I have tried both my Diamond S220 and Millenium 4Mb. Both seem to fail the xconf/Xconfigurator probe. I think that is why I am forced to live in a world of 256 colors.
