here's an easy one!
Does anyone remember how to disable windoze animation? I know it's a key in the registry, but been a long while... Just now getting down to the little things to eek out any tiny bit of performance gains left...
My eyes are croassing, so I'm done looking for tonight.
Thanks for the memories...

I know that you can also do it with TweakUI. You have to install it from Windows98 FE (it still works).
This brings me to a question of my own: Why did Microsoft remove it from W98SE? Where is it now? Do you have to buy it?

Right-click the desktop and go into properties. Then go to the Effects tab and uncheck Windows Animation. Click OK. That should do it.
It's the first thing I ever do when installing Win98. I don't mind the animation of minimize/resize, but all the Start Menu/right-click menu animation bugs me to no end.

Thanks Joel!
Last time, I went into registry, but this is sooo much easier. At least 'ol Billy G. did give us half a dozen ways to do everything and anything...
Thanks again, did the trick!
Good Luck In All...
