Windows 98 and all Microsoft OS BITE

    Thought it would be theraputic....

    Why does Win98 suck <explitive deleted>?

Does anyone have any problems with the Viper 770 Ultra screwing up DirectX 6.1 drivers like I do?

Anyone want to come with me tomorrow when I throw a brick through Bill Gates' window?

Ah ha ha. good one about Gates!!! LOL Have you installed all the drivers? IRQ Miniport, AGP, VideoCard and DirectX? And did you set your video to PCI SuperVGA prior to installing the Viper770 drivers?

Unless you can throw a brick 300-400 ft. standing up in a boat on Lake Washington, forget it.

Better yet, get a REALLY fast boat and run it ashore, it *might* make it all the way to that ugly abortion knows as Gates' house. I think you'd feel better just gazing at it and LYAO- it is that ugly.

Now, Paul Allen's house is *much* nicer, has southern exposure, and closer to the water.
Kinda tells me who the brains in that outfit were.............

Okay, so I am assuming ther eis no moderator for this bboard judging by the fact a guy named f*cker can post. Anyways. Its obvious to me if someone screams they hate microsoft and windows 9x and other OS's that they have never tried to install another operating system. I hate hearing people ***** and whine how MS sucks and how bill gates is a creampuff jerk with too much money. Gates is one of the smartest men alive. He got people to believe windows was the only OS they need and forced people to install it because he made computer manufacturers believe people woulnd't want their computers if they didnt have windows.
If you have ever tried to install Linux, BeOS or OS/2 or another operating system and ever tried to get it configured with ALL of your hardware JUST AS WELL as it is configured in windows....and you say ti is easier to do...then yer lying.
Windows was made to be easy. And it has succedded in that. Upgrading a PC int ehpast did require knowledge of how the PC worked and How you had to configure things in DOS to get it work...now with plu-n-pray..its all done away with. Sure Windows doesnt function 100% of the time the way we want it to...but...neither do humans, cars, stereos anything.. So get over it if you dont like it FDISK it.

Wow..which brings me up a question. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of Windows 1.0 or 2.0? i would like to load em up on an older PC and see what they were like. I was just in the 5th or 6th grade when those came out (am 23 now) and I barely remember 2.0 on an 80286. If you can get ahold of these can you let me know? imagine@apci.net
    Thanks

I used to have a copy of 2.0 but I have no idea where it has gone. I ran 3.0 on my IBM PC (8088 at 4.77Mhz) back in the day. Black and white windows and I could type faster than the cursor. Ah, the good old days... I do have a copy of DOS 2.11 and the hardbound manual that came with an IBM PC from IBM, any takers? (Whoops, guess I should put that in steals and deals eh? ;P)

Well, I have a zip file of Windows 1.03. Shhhh... don't tell MS. It runs about 930KB. I've never actually even opened it.

    Since Bill was mentioned...

There are those that hate him because it's fashionable, "in", or makes them look smart, but you should really just ask yourself "Is Bill really _that_ responsible for the lack of quality in Microsoft products? He doesn't control every evil thing the company does!

I don't mean to completely defend him. He has ruined the software industry (though his software is probibly responsible for the CPU and hard drive improvements). And he wasn't that great a programmer... actually he really kind of sucked. His genius actually is in marketing and spin/mind control.

Why does f*cker call us suckers when he can call use F*ckers. another thing is windows 2000 is supposed to fix all the bugs that O/S systems posess, and should make everyone happy. look at the improvements from win95 to win98.

Yes there have been a lot of improvements, but there have also been a lot of other problems created by MS standards.

For instance, why does MS think that we are all idiots? If we actually needed all of the annoying 'stuff' that they put in, then we probably don't know enough to even use that 'stuff'. All of those popup things and wizards just waste a lot of time and resources. I remember when you could select different experience levels during install, and that controlled how much of that help 'stuff' was installed. Once someone has learned how to use the computer and software, they don't need all the help 'stuff' and wizards, they just get in the way of actually being productive. I spend a great deal of time disabling those functions so that they don't confuse the person(s) that I'm trying to teach.

MS & everyone else just needs to go back to making the SW simpler and less power hungry so that we actually have an improvement in performance with the new technology rather than an increase in programming and resource waste.
