internal pci modem
I have a U.S.Robotics 56k internal PnP modem and I was curious if anyone has got this type of modem to work under Linux or other 3com internal pci modems to work. And if so how?

Is it a Win modem. If so it won't work. Your manual might also have a list of compatible hardware.

I'm pretty sure its not a win modem, i didn't get much documentation with my modem so I can't be positive and there is nothing in the manual

If this is an ISA modem check out this web page.
www.linuxnewbie.org/nhf/intel/modems/index.html
This site may work for a PCI modem too.

Check the title of those string. This is a PCI modem. PCI modems require a software enumerato to emulate the serial port. This IS a Winmodem. PCI modems are not supported under linux. Maybe with the kernel 2.4 that is goign to be released soon they will be. I know I was told that it would support winmodems, but I am guessing that is ISA modems.
