    Does W2K suport duel processors?

I was told not, but I want to find out for sure. Also, W98 doesn't suport duel processors, right?

Watch out for a Win9x based version of Win2k though. They may market a product that is not based on an NT core, and therefore will not see dual procs. If this is going to be a real issue, it should be obvious by the time W2K ships so just keep watching the web for better info.

Actually, Microsoft renamed it because it caused confusion for a lot of people. What will be the follow on to Win98SE used to be called Windows 2000 Consumer, but people got confused since it wasn't at all the same OS as Win2k so the new name is Windows Millenium. From what I hear, it should be out late Q1 or Q2 of '00.

The next release after that is code-named Neptune and it should be a pretty major upgrade to Windows 98/Millenium. It is also MS's plan that Neptune be the last Win9x-based OS before moving everyone to the NT core.

    Skywalker not true..
there is 3 flavors of W2K out now in beta(or RC1 now)
    W2K professional... dual processor support
    W2K Server......... 1-4 Processor Support
W2K Advanced Server 1-8 Processor support
All have Directx 7 beta with them...
and the current release date is november 7-10
W2K Pro is supposed to be the win98 version the family but I have heard rumors that they might release something less resource demanding for the home market..
W2K Professional uses 55 meg in task manager with no extra services loading...
our W2K server runs at 120meg with web services and lan services running

Any of you guys actually tried WIN2k RC1 on a dual motherboard.... GA6BXD wont even install. Abit BP6 has problems if you have a TNT 2 ultra and a SBLIVE .... basically its buggy as hell and beta 3 was better but you couldnt have any sound if you had a SBLIVE.

Win2k will be dual proccessor but it may be a long way off. Its intended release date is supposed to be november but with the millenium coming up dont you think it would be alot safer for Bill if it was afterwards. Stick with NT4 .... you can still play quake 3 in full gory using OpenGL ... it rocks !!!
