I think the system is trying to tell you the kernel is too big. Instaed of doing a "make zImage" try "make bzImage".

Yea im a dumbass. I got busy trying to find out what "make bzImage" was and forgot to try it. That worked fine, no errors after I installed the kernel. I have a friend that thinks NTFS is so secure cuz "...no other operating systems can see it...". Well, he was blown away when my new linux kernel mounted it without a snag! I have tried to explain to him its not that secure, but he wouldn't listen until now.
Now a new problem... anyone know how to make lilo boot partitions after cyl 1023? I just got this new 17GB hard drive... Best deal I ever seen! $50 plus a trade on my 8.4GB!
