    Lightbulb Problems with UT...

Hi guys, I got UT recently and after installing it, I directly DL'ed the 420 patch. When I play it on my system, it runs fine, but when I try to play online, I either get complete lockup of the game, or I get serious lag every second or so. Not very good if you want to avoid being hit. I ran it in a small window and tried to access other parts of ym system when playing the online game, and my entire system lags as well. Any ideas on what this could be? I have the latest Matrox G400 drivers for my G40 max and the latest SBLive bloatware as well. Any ideas on how to correct this would be greatly appreciated. Here are my system specs if they are needed:

    Cel 2 566 @ 910
    384 MB PC100
    2 20GB WD Experts in RAID0
    Abit BF6
Matrox G400 Max DH w/ latest non-beta driver and aperture in BIOS is set to 256
    SB Live! Value
    Netgear NIC
3COM NIC (cable modem connected here)
    NEC 32X cd-rom
    HP 8250i cd-rw
    300W PS

Dave... I still have the older patches, 405 and 413, if you want to try those. Also there are a couple of map packs you can d/l (not that these will help your situation, but there are some good maps in there)

No I went directly from the retail to patch 420 without evenasmuch as running the game first. Are you saying I should try each patch? Was 420 a cumulative patch? I will read up and see. From what I understand, my problem is not uncommon. I just wish I knew what it was...
    Thanks

You shouldn't have any problems running straight to the 420 from the purchased condition. I recently wiped my computer clean and re-installed everything including Unreal Tournament. I downloaded the 420 directly. Unreal is running great. I strongly feel it is something else causing the problem other than the patch.
