video problems with unreal engine based games
Following system:
Win 98SE
FIC VA-503+ ver1.2A
AMD K6-2-350
64meg EDO RAM
S3 Trio3D 4meg AGP
Diamond Monster3D (voodoo1, 4meg)
Friend bought a SB Live X-Gamer and I borrowed the Unreal game in it from him. It will not work on my comp. I get a null cache error. Likewise with Klingon Honor Guard that I just bought. The website suggested I download the latest 3Dfx reference drivers and install (I was using the latest Diamond drivers and DirectX 7). Using those drivers locks my computer up completely when loading a 3D game. Even games like GLQuake. Went back to my old drivers. GLQuake works again, but I get the null cache error on Unreal based games. The games load in safe mode, but use my S3 card instead of my Monster3D. It seems like I almost have this working, but am missing one piece of the puzzle. Please help. Thanks!!
