Microsoft Force Feedback

Has anyone had this stick for awile?Any problems? As hard on sticks as we are,I thought the servos or whatever drives the "feedback" would break within a year or less....DawgTuff.

Close to a year and a half, I think. Still works as well as the day I got it. On certain games (MotorHead for one) the force feedback is strong enough to make the stick jump around. *lol* I have to lower the feedback settings. MS's Combat Flight Sim has good feedback too, if I recall correctly.

The unit hasn't been problematic whatsoever.

On another note, Tyan has a motherboard that uses the Via Apollo Pro133A chipset. Unlike the one used on the Soyo, this one natively supports AGP 4x (AGP v2.0 standard).
Thought you would be interested in knowing. Not about the board but the chipset. The Tyan one is avaible now, so, I'd think Soyo and others would start using them soon.

Just wana know if the force feedback works with Unreal/UT and Quake 2/3A?

Planning to get one, but wana know if it only works with feedback enabled games.

Well the Force Feedback will only respond if the game is designed with Feedback. On games that are not "force feedback" enabled the joystick will react like any other digital joystick

ALL RIGHT I use a Ms Sidewinder P.Pro and I rarely see anyone play with a Joy. I have not used the feedback but I would be against anything that might interfere with my feel just for the movement of my player. It is hard to beat a mouse player,What do you think? I am trying to cross over to a ouse using a trackman marble. I'v been playing with a joy so long that it feels very wierd!! OWell Practice,Etc. See me on the KALI server. LTR, Xstar
