What is the biggest letdown game ever?
Just like a big budget box office bomb like Ishtar. What is this most overhyped worse game you've ever played/bought? I recently played Wing Commander: Prophecy and I thought it was ****, especially compared to its predecessors.

Plenty, but Campaign on the Amiga (believe it was on PC too) really p*ssed me off.
Not one of those over-hyped games, but one which had so much promise and failed dismally. The idea of controlling dozens of WW2 tanks, planes, ships across massive maps, with supply dumps, minefields etc. and play it as a general from the map or a tank gunner on the field was great. Zipping around the battlefield blowing the heck out of everything. Except the thing wouldn't play for more than an hour without crashing. Man that got my goat. Anyone who owned an Amiga will realise that a) a crash in commercial software was generally a rarity and b) there was sod all you could do about it. Oh, and supply didn't work, so my tanks ended up stranded. That sucked too.
I even wrote to the programmer with the error codes, but no reply. That game shattered my childhood illusions of a perfect gaming world.

Hmm...I just played a demo of a game that I thought was way better than it actually was...the name of that game? Total Annihilation Kingdoms.
It wasnt just bad
it was annoying, and the sounds were grating.
..and worst of all I died horribly ...lol

TIberian Sun fell short of my expectations too..but not as bad as TAK..
-
I agree C&C 2 sucked so bad it was a joke
-
I bought it (tiberian sun) three days after it came out... Warzone 2100 is older but it is still getting upgrades in gameplay and the like... TS would've been awesome if it had come out a year and a half ago! HA!

I agree it was bad, and fell short of my expectations, but it was not a total bomb. I thought it wasnt that great, so i lent it to my friend. To my amazement, he really liked it. Different people different tastes right?

I have to admit tiberian sun has good movie cuts. But the lack of 3-d positioning as well as really cheesy units bring it down. But, I haven't played it that much- I'll beat her and get back to ya!
