    Half-Life and the V770U

Has anyone else experianced weird graphics errors when loading into half-life, the menu has a sort of distortion over it, or the in game graphics go all trippy occasionally, but when you exit to the menu and go back in they're fine? I've got the latest diamond drivers, and have patched HL to v. 1.0.1.3 any ideas?

I've got the same problem with mine! Sometimes the graphics go ape with lines, especially on H/L menu screens, and mine forces my desktop to 640X480 when I exit, so I have to force it back to 1024. What mb/CPU do you have? Mine is 66-2 350@400 on FIC VA503+ 100 FSB, 64 PC100 RAM, with V770 non-ultra. I have the Detonator drivers and current mb drivers. I'm just putting up with the errors. Any suggestions out there?

I have a P3 450 @ 600, with a SY6-VBA133 mobo, Viper 770 Ultra, CL Live! 1024. I get the same problems at standard speed, I have no idea what causes it, the viper's not overheating, it's running at standard speed at a boost level of 1. My case temp is usually about 30C. WTF is up with this game?

Same problem on a CL TNT
I think its a HL problem and not a hardware or driver problem, becuase it only happens in that game.

I used to have image problems where I would see two images of the screen at the same time, and all of the colors were inverted. It was pretty trippy.
Anyway, it was because I was still using opengl after I switch video cards. Try switching to d3d, if you're not there already.

I've tried D3D, but I get a bit of image flickering on some of the textures.

I think the screen where the image problems are is 2d accelerated and not 3d at all...

I actually get errors in 2d and 3d, so who knows waht the problem is, most likely the HL software though.

Well, I would venture to say that it's probably the TNT chipset- I have 2 Voodoo3 3000's and 2 Savage 4 Pros, all on different machines using various AMD and Pentium chips and on different brand mobos.
In all cases, the game runs flawlessly with no graphic or hardware problems whatsoever.
This would lead me to think that it's a problem with the graphics card itself.

That really sux because I just ordered a V770 Ultra yesterday. Now I'm worried...

My gulliemot tnt2U runs HL fine in OGL and D3D. So I don't think it's a tnt2 problem.
