looking for new game, any suggestions?

I am not a real hardcore gamer, but I am looking to get a couple new games for my computer. I don't really know much about the games on the market now, but I really liked blood and descent a few years ago. I don't like role playing games. I tried quake two and didn't like it. The 3d movement made me dizzy. I also want a game that is going to be fairly easy to learn how to play.

..You liked blood and not quake huh?
Halflife is a truely awesome game...it is very well textured and stuff so chances are it wont make u dizzy..I usually get dizzy in games where all the walls and ceilings look the same so that u can spin round and round and notknow where the heck ya are.
Halflife looks and feels very real..and its a good mix of action, and a tad of puzzle and a bit of choicemaking, with a awesome storyline...check it out..the game of the year!

Thanks for the reply. I will try half life. I have been looking at it in the stores lately anyway. Don't get me wrong, I like playing quake, but within minutes I am so dizzy that I almost puke. For some reason blood didn't bother me.

Another good First person shooter is System Shock 2. It has a bit of roleplaying in it, but if you like creatures jumping out at you and suspenseful effects this is your game.
Look into it, Its a scream.

System Shock has a bit of a learning curve, but it is very enjoyable once you get the hang of it. Halflife retains most of the normal controls from Blood/Q2 only adding a few extras (Secondary fire and Flashlight to name 2), yet still employs a killer storyline and unmatched fun factor. System Shock, while by all means an excellent game, is not as impressive as Halflife. System Shock wont get you dizzy tho, because the action is at a much slower pace than most action games since it is based on a RPG core. I am confident that you will not be dissapointed with Halflife tho.

Try Need For Speed SE or other driving games.
Mechwarrior3 could be cool as well. I've played need for speed as find it fun. Mech3 look pretty cool unfortunatly I havn't been able to buy a copy yet.

I just got half life and installed it. It is great. It will take my a while to learn all the moves, but at least it doesn't make me dizzy. I even played online some and it was great. I got wasted though before I could do anything. I need more practice. Thanks again auraedge for recommending this great game. I might try system shock or driving game later, but my wife says I already spent this months software budget

For less than $10, you can buy the fastest, most intense paced full fledged 3D racing game to date. MotorHead. 32bit color support up to 1600x1200.

This is strictly a flat-out racing game.

One goal. Be faster than the fastest.

There is no luck.
Only your driving skill.

Come experience the high velocity racing of MotorHead. Be the best. Be the Fastest...

...and then, if you think you are, race with us online and come see what High-Velocity really means.

EBWorld has it for $8 online. Buy.com may have it for less. TNTs, VooDoo, they'll all do the job.

I just thought I'd add a suggestion...

How about aliens V Predator....

This has to be the most intense game I have ever played...knocks spots off any version of Quake, and is the only game I have ever played that actually makes me jump....( just wait till you get gotten by a Face hugger )

Multiplayer is a dream too...

What does everyone else think ?

Happy gaming

Sammy

Hey Sammy, tell me about AVP. I was thinking of getting it when the price dropped a bit.
What I really want to know is whether the game uses the same sound effects that the films have. I didn't manage to get a demo, and don't have a connection suitable for downloading it. The sounds really made Alien Trilogy on the Playstation rock for me!

Ahhhh, the flash of the pulse-rifle muzzle as your motion tracker goes crazy. I loved that game

Hey AuraEdge:

You just cost me 35 bucks!

After reading your post about Half Life, I downloaded the demo, played it for a day, and HAD to order it tonight!

Thanks for the heads-up on a great game!

U-96,

What can I say about AVP....All the sounds are there...moody lighting....fantastic effects, and hordes of acid spewing aliens, and the odd predator for good measure.

The sounds are the same as in the films, and through a SB live, it is awesome..The motion tracker freaks you out.....and the weapons effects are particularly good.

Coupled with the fact you can play any of the three species...and you have an awsome game.

Buy it...Now and be stunned.

Sammy
