    halflife problems,

in single player halflife, images added to walls and floors and stuff are flickering (such as spray paint, blood splatter, signs, etc.). The pattern on the walls (bricks and so forth) are fine. I have everything upto date. I have an ATI rage fury w/ 32mb and i can't think why its doing this.

This happens in to me aswell. I have rage fury 32MB and i reckon it is just a driver problem. I'm running the latest version but i'm not worried abou the problem. Next driver release may fix it.

You are both correct it is a driver problem and the ati web site that describes the drive said that these drivers cause this problem. SOLUTION:Install older drivers.

    Ati's web site: http://support.atitech.ca/drivers/drivers.html

i installed the drivers from the disk that came with the card and there has been no update since. Donkey, how do you like it, what system are you using, cause before i had the rage fury i had an intel 740 type card with 8 mb of ram, i go some performance boost but i'm kind of kicking my self for not getting a tnt2 or voddoo 3, the rage fury isn't the cheapest either

Reloading the older drivers isn't really a good idea, the drivers before the most recent lot also caused probs in halflife by causing the screen to turn multicoloures as if you were trippin'

As for the card itself, i think it is great, i don't use it just for gaming though. It will run games as well as many of the other cards around at the moment, better in my opinion than Voodoo. Hardware DVD is a real plus point.

I would stick with the latest drivers. they are not the problem. I had a 740I card and i had that problem. It has to do with HalfLife config you are using. If you go to www.tweak3d.net and look for a halflife autoexec creator you may find the answer to your problem. It has to do with a decal adjustment default in HalfLife. A new autoexec will overide the defaults and fix your problem. you may have to mess with some variables. the custom autoexec will also make HalfLife run a lot faster if you set it up correctly.

I agree with Donkey, I use the ati card for gaming, But I also use it for my tv card a dvd player, which works perfectly. Great little all around card for a slightly smaller price.

    thats all.
