    FPS and voodoo3

Hi, Currently i can get 64.1fps at a resolution of 1024*768 in quake 2. Is this an exceptable standard for a voodoo3 3000 agp card? I noticed also that when I play at this resolution and try to strafe sideways and look around at the same time the screen shutters slightly. Normal?
    SYSTEM:
    P3 450
    64mb ram
    voodoo3 3000 agp
    soundblaster awe64
    7.5gb hard drive

    Mel,

I hate to say this at this time but you need to UP your RAM.(as I bet you have your AGP set to use 64megs in the bios as that is the default for most bios's) I have this same card (v3 3000 agp) and not having any of the screen shutters you are discribeing. My system consists of a Celeron 333 running at 516, 128megs ram ect ect.

One other thing you might double check thou is your CD-rom caching. could be your cd is not keeping up with the game?

ps..Oh at 1024x768 your doing ok at 64fps at stock speeds.

Uhm... i am on an amd k6-2 450 with 64 megs of sdram and a voodoo 3 3000 and i get 120 fps at 1024x768

the trick is to get a program called v3 overclocker. It has an option to turn sync every frame off then you will be cruisin at 100+ fps email me at diefish@home.com or icq me at 6559089 for the program if you cant find it
