Hi Sweeper, not totally sure here but I think you need a faster internet connection
such as DSL or cable...just a guess but I only have 28.8 and have not been able to connet at all....

Most of my problems with Q3Test have been video drivers. Go to www.glsetup.com/where.htm and give it a shot. The web based download will figure out what video card you have, then download the latest and greatest OpenGL drivers for it and set them up. It has worked wonders for me.

You're problem is probably your connection
when in the game hit the tab key to check your ping rate I'm guessing it is pretty high

Have you tweaked your DUN settings? If not you can get a neat little free utility called "TweakDUN" from www.zdnet.com . Set it up for MTU=576 and RWIN=x4. Read the help file for more stuff but it increased my throughput by about 30%. It helped my online gaming too! That winmodem doesn't help matters I've heard.

You gotta have a ping for more than 500ms. Try tweaking your Dialup Networking with "TweakDUN" as reddog4629 or any other freeware program that modifies your connection settings.

Same thing here, play Q3A with ping bouncing from 120 all the way to 1125ms and it frooze. Made some tweaking and I still get some lag (28.8 modem connection), but nothing that doesn't allow me to kill a lot of buddies
