    saitek USB cyborg 3d joystick

Does anyone have a saitek USB cyborg 3D joystick who has gotten it to work in win 98 second edition? When I plug mine in it defaults to some generic driver and in the system contol panel on the device manager tab it shows up under usb controllers as "unknown device". Under the sound, video game controllers, an HID-compliant game controller shows up.

In the game controllers control panel the HID device shows up as not connected. I assume the USB port is working since I have a 56K USB modem working on it.

    Thanks,

    e

Check if your stick is in anolgue or digital mode.

If analogue, then check game controller config in ctrl panel/game controllers and calibrate it.

If digital, you need to calibrate it, and if you intend using buttons, you need to program them using the Saitek command centre software. You even need to tell it to assign fire to the trigger in this mode <sigh>.
Also, every time you play a new game, you'll need to load the saitek config file for that game first.

Every time you switch between analogue and digital mode and vice versa, you have to recalibrate.

I have the gameport version, and it's a great stick, but I have these little problems all the time. I'm just guessing it may be the same with USB.
