Half-Life - Networking

Hello,

I have the original version of Half-Life,
do I need any patches or downloads to get
a LAN game going?

I'm not to sure about lan games, but it wouldn't hurt. You should get the v1005 to v10013 patch.

www.shugashack.com have all the patches available for download, make sure you get the patch with Team Fortress Classic included, for the ultimate LAN experience. Original HL has a nasty habit of trying to log on to the net when you start a LAN game, the newer patches supposedly prevent this.

I did try without patches and it kept
trying to log onto the internet and also
froze my machine when I tries to change the
maps.
