    direct x 6.1 setup error-14

    HI,
    I am using win98 and direct x 6.0 core with direct x control( on task bar)..when I tried to install direct x 6.1 I get setup error 14..I went to add/remove programs to remove my previous version of direct x it is not listed...or is the direct x 6.1 on my gaming cd bad??need help .......
