Well heres my settings...I have a CL TNT clocked at 110/120. on a PII 350@466 w/ 196 RAM
The Mark on walls/dynamic lighting screen, i have everything on 'on' cept sync every frame. I have screen size on 800x600 (would be 1024, but Toned it down to 800 to pump frame rates so i could turn other extras on), Textures on full (It makes it look ALOT better in my opinion), 16 bit textures and colors, high geometric details. Lightmap lighting, and Biliniar filtering. I think that covers all the fields...
I get 44.5 FPS on q3demo1.

Your best bet is a Viper 770 TNT2 Ultra card. I have one running on a Pentium III 450 w/ 128 megs of ram. It's sweet!

Im running a 366 celery @ 550 with a V3 2000 at 170 and I get 50 fps in q3demo1 in 800x600 with everything turned on and set to the highest even the texture bar. I plan on seeing a 5 frame increase in that when I install Wicked3d's new Minigl driver that they came out with. www.wicked3d.com . Go check it out, its supposed to improve visual quality and increase speed in all minigl games, especially quake3.

I'm also running a 366 @550mhz with 128 ram and a Voodoo 3 2000 AGP running at the default of 143mhz. As an experiment, I set everything to the "Fastest" setting, plus "cg_gibs 0", "r_dynamiclight 0", "cg_simpleitems 1", and "cg_marks 0". I ran "timedemi 1" and got 93.1 fps in q3demo1 and 90.5 fps in q3demo2. I then ran these same "timedemos" with the V3 set to 150mhz and then 166mhz without any improvement. Lastly, I tried the "Wicked 3d" drivers...my fps dropped in both demo1 and demo2 by 10fps! Go figure!

PS. I just upped the CPU FSB to 103mhz, now running at 567mhz. I re-ran Q3 time demos and fps increased to: 97.3 fps in demo2, and 93.6 fps in demo1. Speed is king! Has anyone tried the "Wicked" drivers yet.
