    HELP PLEASE!

I wanna set up a q2 loop so that I can run that and seti@home to burn in a new cpu... can someone tell me the console command for this and suggest a particular demo, and contribute any other significant information that they may have.
    thx,
    Z

    http://www.voodooextreme.com/3Finger...chmar.htm#loop

The Crusher and Massive1 demos really give the CPU a workout and right below them you'll find a zip file that contains some stuff for looping them. If you want to use the stock demos in quake, type 'timedemo 1' on the console, then close the console. It will loop the two stock timedemos for as long as you like. Crusher or Massive1 would probably do a better job of burning in a CPU though. RC5 or Prime95 would probably work a little better than SETI@home for burn in also, but not a great huge amount better. Prime95 has the bonus of being very intensive, and very sensitive to errors. It will let you know your absolute limits in stability.

If I run both crusher in a loop and seti @ home, will that give it a good burn in?... I haven't done this before, so I don't wanna f$*k it up.
    thx

SETI@home or RC5 should be good burn ins for the processor..and Q2 time demos would be burn in for the video card (wont burn in CPU any more cuz SETI@Home or RC5 already deck out the processing power.

AuraEdge/Blade is right. The Q2 timedemo loop will be hitting the video card as well as the CPU. For just burning in a CPU Prime95, RC5, or SETI@home would work well enough alone. The Q2 loop would work great to determine total system stability. If I had to pick, I would go for Prime95 to burn in the CPU.

Can anyone tell me exactly what prime95 is/does? (when it's not being used for burning). I went through the readme, but I didn't find it very useful. It says use the torture test to really check the system, but I can't seem to find a list of different types of tests. If someone could just give me a url that really explains this program, or give me an explanation themself, I would be very appreciative.
    thx
