I have been waiting for this game to come out so long and everytime it gets delayed. They makers say that it is coming out in the summer but when??!! its already July and I haven't even heard a word about it yet. All i can say is, it better be **** worth my money when i buy it or I will be pissed.

August, rumour has it that Ta:Kingdoms was better than they expected and they didn't want to compete.

TA Kingdoms better than Tiberian Sun? I dunno cuz I thought from the looks of the previews of TA Kingdoms, that it looked pretty boring although I have played TA before and it is kinda fun with the ability to swarm your opponents with units. I don't know what TA Kingdoms is gonna be about cuz it seems like a midieval game to me ( way different from the TA game I have played). WEll anyways, if Ta Kingdoms is actually a better game, I might just buy that then.

Kingdoms has a high novelty value because it is different, play it and you'll understand, I'm about 1/4 of the way through on single player, I can't describe it, it's just different.
-
TA: Kingdoms is pretty good. Different than the Dune 2 clones in that resources are handled differently. You don't have to send a harvester (with an idiot AI driver) out to gather some ore/spice/wood resource. You place a building on certain spots that give you the resource continuously. Now, I don't like Kingdoms as much as I did Total Anihilation, however. Jumpy plotline, some of the races are a little unwieldy, and they toned down the resource management. You can't reclaim buildings, trees, rocks, enemy units for metal/energy you just sit there and suck in mana from boring loadstones. If you have not played the original TA, I'd highly recommend it. Kingdoms is good too, but not nearly as good.
-
So should I buy TA Kingdoms or jsut wait for Tiberian Sun? I've played TA before it I like it but the TA Kingdoms seems like a different game but with the same concepts still and you can't reclaim your buildings? Man, how are you supposed to get more resources if those debris are on top of the resources?
-
They give you the option to 'clear' debris, but you get nothing for it. I personally liked running 2-3 dozen construction aircraft over an enemy unit and reclaiming them. I did it to an enemy commander once, big fun. Oh well. TA: Kingdoms is fun though, you just have to get used to the changes. The units are a lot more diverse and each side has big strengths and weaknesses.

If you go to www.ebworld.com and then go to the release dates part you will find out when TS will come out. And personally I can't wait til TS comes out. I have been wanting it b4 RA. Kinda dissapointed at RA. Kingdoms is a little different. Have you tried to resurect units? You can get even ememy units at your command. I personally like lasers and guns and nukes oh my!
BC out

If you want to try TAK without buying it, you can install someone else's CD and download a legit crack from the web that allows you to play without the cd in. You can link up with the cd that "spawned" your copy, but you can't play on Cavedog's site. A few other things too but I'll let you find out for yourself.
Oh yeah, Cavedog is working on a patch to fix a few things and hopefully improve the game more. Concept is fairly neat and you'd prob like it more if you were into all that medieval stuff. Be warned though, because TAK is a resource hog and I've heard ppl complaining of slowdowns even on high end systems like P500's w/ 128MB of memory. Others have claimed no slowdowns with their trusty P233's. Depends on what setting you use I guess.

yep thats exactly right, there have been major slow downs even in software 640x480. I love this game and think its great, i am very appreciative that they made such a good fantasy based RTS game like this. I love the different units you can build and conjuring up a godlike dragon is really sweet also. The animation is flawless and the skirmishes are so much fun. I definately recommend this game over any RTS out there right now, unless your not appreciative of fantasy based stuff like me.
Unfortunately Tiberium Sun looks to be really sucky to me and I dont think its going to be worth the wait, The engine is the almos the same as the orginal red alert except with the addition of colored lighting and effects. Its not even going to be 3d accelerated which is the way to go these days. Kingdoms is 3d accelerated but only for the effects and the animations. The problem, why its so slow is, because there is a problem with directx being able to display that many textures at one time, having every unit renedered in 3d, its a big hit on the system. Directx7 is supposed to fix this and make kingdoms play better.
Ill have to wait and see how TS really plays, but ever since I bought the orginal Total Annihilation I've lost faith in the C&C series big time.

Not fer anything but of course its gunna be slow on software mode...Try Hardware mode, or get a new video card if you cant, since they are all the talk these days anyways
-
Is Tiberian Sun gonna have good graphics like Starcraft or is it gonna look like Red Alert again. Man, I certainly hope that it doesn't look like Red Alert.
-
CNC:TS has a new isometric view, the units are 3D but it's voxel technology rather than the polygons used in TA. Check out www.cnc2.com for some funky screen shots.

Did you read what I said about software being slow? I have an AMD cpu so the fpu isnt good enough to run the software mode of it. The hardware accelerated version is mega slow even on p3 systems. Its a problem with directx.
Tiberium Sun may never come out, but I heard the release date from software etc. was around august sometime. Since Westwood studios was bought out they are a little behind on stuff, but personally i dont want to play a different version of starcraft, I hated starcraft, all the same stuff anymore, this game is going to be almost exactly the same as red alert except with some new graphics and lighting, me personally, i think its going to behind in the times, with the likes of warzone 2100 and TA Kingdoms
