Q2/Kingpin online problem
I'm having a problem while playing Kingpin and Quake2 online.
As soon as I enter, The game freezes right up. I know its really bad lag.
I never have this problem with ANY other game. Just games based on the Q2 engine.
I've tried servers with pings in the 200s.
Still locks right up. I can see and hear people playing but I can't move.
I've tried 3 different modems, A Lucent Winmodem(PCI)(thought this was the problem for sure), A USR ISA modem, and a Phoebe ISA modem. I had the same problem with all of them.
My ISP is SNET. My connection speeds range from 48000 to 50666.
Everyone of my other games run fine while gaming online(UNREAL,Delta Force, etc. etc.)
My PC is a P3 450@558, BX6 2.0, 256MB pc100 RAM, V3 3000
Anyone have any ideas why??

Im guessing your problem is v.90 compression. I have a friend that cant play any quake2 engine through his isp either. He disabled his v.90 and he could play fine, if you can get a modem that is kflex do it, if you can find one, like creative labs modem blaster that does both, get that. Im not sure what he had to do, but go to www.tweak3d.com and find their modem tweak they tell you how to disable it. try that and see if that works.
