When im in the water in HL...it goes BUZZAATKKKFFTT!! MAKE IT STOP!!

I got a pair of 36 watt speakers with a 44 watt sub pustin out the base. I got a SB Live! Value making the sound. I got beautiful sound in games with EAX especially. But in halflife (EAX support on), if im in the water and a rocket explodes above water or sumthin, it makes the most disgusting buzzing noise that probably wakes up the nieghbors pets. Even with my bass on lowest possition on speakers and sub, it still blows forth this nasty sounding, but less irritating buzz. ACK!! I dont wanna fall in the water anymore cuz im scared of this noise. Every time i fall it i hafta frantically take my hand off the mouse and push the pwer button on my speakers and kick the power button on the sub. Sound like fun? Would be if i didnt get blown to gibs while i was doin this.

There's something funky with HL and SBL. I think they are both to blame. I remeber getting stuck in sound loops at times. Done finished the game awhile back; get to go to the alien world. I don't know if the recently released HL patch or the recent update to SBL fix these things or not.

I just got done wit a game of team fortress!
I mean forget circle strafing and mouse precision sniping its the swift right foot kick for the sub and right hand press to shut the speakers off that determines wheter i get fragged or not. Whew...Whadda work out...=P.....talk about yer action games..
now jyst gotta deal wit this overheating issue (not of the comp but of me). Gotta download the AC and install it into windows...
Wait...*shuts off comptechie side* I mean bring down the AC from the attic and put it in the window...lol

Oh well..thats cool anyways....Catchya round edge...got finals soon...So gotta study..Junior year so last year colleges look at really...gotta do good..get into a colege wit that phat T1 if not ill be scrubbin off this V.90 all my life.

just an update...I dont get any sound loops at all...Alien world rocks! I hadda cheat (shh its a secret.. ) wit noclip to get past most parts...most of the jumpin puzzles and such arent even worth your time really cept the satisfaction u get from not cheatin though it....I doubt thats even that much..

When my friend gets his MX300, ill install it into my system and see if it still does that with A3D...maybe i should try shutin off EAX.

Oh yea did u hear about Opposing force? its an expansion for HL. U play as a soldier and u can dish out commands to tehn frgalific soldiers. Im definitly gettin that..HL is a FPS with singlerplayer worth playin. I bet this expansions gunna be awesome...p32 if u have PCgamer July

Id go and ask em but its a rotwiler. Chased me around the block once when I was teasin it though the fence...them suckers can jump pretty high ya know..It quit chasin me when it saw a female dog across the street...The lady who owned the dog freaked cuz she wasnt spaded...(Thats a dogs life..). Everything was alright tho cuz the rotwiler was nuetered..Maybe thats why he howls all the time...

i was waitin for the school bus one day (hate not bein able to drive til 17 in NJ).....and outta no where comes this PITCH BLACK YIPPY DOG. Almost crapped myself i was so freaked out. I thought it was a bush or sumthin when i first passed it cuz it was dark (6:30AM in the winters pretty dark.....)

There is an EAX patch for HL floating around somewhere,have you tried it? I will look for it and post it here when I find it.
What version of the SBLive drivers are ya using?The 2.0 version seems to be a little more stable for me(20 some mbs though).

Hey guys. What sound card are you using when you have tape loop problems? I just swithed from a SB AWE64 to a LIVE! Value card. I've never had a problem with HL until I switched cards! Now I am getting these funky hangups and Barneys been caught doin' this funky little two step in the corners! What's up? I'm getting the same thing when I go to do a quick f6 save, It hangs and the sound just goes dit..dit..dit..dit..[something like that!] Anyway it's a real drag!

Where talking about SBLive. There's definitely a EAX issue with HL. Turning it off in the game will help sometimes but not all the time. Creative admits the problem exists. Nothing is done as of yet. The new drivers make it worse I hear.

Yup..ive tryed to download the liveware thing...Lemme tell ya..its frustrating to download 21MB's and then recieve a msg SOMETHING IS MISSIN OR CORRUPT PLZ TRY DOWNLOADING IT AGAIN. I would have if i didnt see other people havin the same problem
ive seen several posts on this board sayin that trhey had problems loading/downloading/running the new drivers, so i just steered clear...(thats the past tense of steer right? sounds a lil wierd)

i got the new Liveware 2.0 upgrade. Seems to have alleviated the problem somewhat, also adding some nifty features. (I downloaded it in seperate disck form this time....worked fine cept for some after installation restart conflicts. I quickly fixed that with msconfig). It doesnt go BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ like crazy anymore, although still quiet loud and booistrous. The new features in liveware are incredible tho..i felt like i just bought a new sound card all over again!

My Aztech run beutifuly in HL, full 128 voices with this patch a friend hooked me up with, but I doubt it realy needs 128 when I meat about 2 at a time.
