VXD version 1.4
Hi! I've been lurking here for a while and I gotta say this is a great forum!
My problem is thus - Recently I installed Subculture (a submarine game with little to recommend it). A couple of days later I fired up Quake 2 for a deathmatch and when it tried to load I got an error that said it had found VXD version 1.1, version 1.4 expected. Then the game shut down. Can someone tell me what this is all about and how I might fix it? I need my Quake!
Thanks!

first find out what VXD. your subculture game replaced.. then.. either extract the vxd from the quake2 cd (if it is on here) or win9x cd.

Well, I tried going through the VXD files and let me tell ya, there are a ton of 'em! I finally gave up and uninstalled Q2, then reinstalled it, but that didn't help. Next I removed my Voodoo2 card and reinstalled that, also to no avail. On the third swing I hit a homer though! I reinstalled DirectX 6 and all is well!
Thanks!
