    Quake 3 Arena.........

The Quake 3 test is sweet. They have effectively eliminated lag. I could not believe that I, with a winmodem and a 300 ping, was trashing a guy with a ping of 20. The movement doesn't lag like Quake 2. Is the final going to be this smooth?

movement is smoother, but it still lags. You notice how the bullets dont actually fire til about 500-600ms after u fire with each gun?
a LPB dont get that. They fire and stuff hits. Q3test was designed for play on LAN.

I like some things about the Q3, but the movement and reaction just doesn't compare with Q2. Add to that the unnecessary smoke trail blurring your view, and it isn't the most mpressive game to the hardcore Quakers.

    Thats my take!

I have to agree with bba. While the graphics are amazing, it just doesnt campare with q2. It doesnt feel like the same game. When they went from q1 to q2, the graphics were much improved, yet it still felt like quake. q3 doesnt feel like quake. Also, i'm not a fan of the q3 weapons. Hopefully the full release will be a lot better.
