Q3test 32-bit major slowdowns on TNT

Got a p2 350 64ram CL TNT
its good wit all the settings but when i make color depth 32 bits, it goes real slow and i get hiccuping sounds from the comp. The cursor still moves, but like 10 seconds after i push a button (at the menu screen).
when i have it on 16, no problem. Anyone else got this problem? is it just me or is it a bug? and on another note..I every weapon in Q3 not hit until about .5 seconds later (after you see the firing animation)...Really sucks for the rail. Is this a bug thier gunna fix? or is the rail reduced to a real bad rocket launcher?
