    crash back to windows

My computer crashes back to windows during Halflife...and other games I have...like Grim Fandango, ha, and even the old ATF Gold. I don't have the problem in Need For Speed 3 though. It's really anoying. I've tried nearly everything...I've got the newest drivers..I've even flashed my video bios. Havn't tried Directx 6.1...but it's not like a dot release will do that much. I've got a p2 266 oc'd to 300 (I know that's not the problem) Diamond Stealth G-460 (i740)...128mb of ram. Any help would be great...it at one time worked great..no problems at a faster oc. I've tried to go back...but nothing.

You say you know your O/C CPU is not the problem? How do you know? Did you put it at normal speed to test it? I used to have the exact same problem with Need For Speed 2 SE as well as Quake 2. I had my K6 300 o/c to 333. I put it back to 300 and it stopped. So unless you have actually tested it at the correct clockspeed, I would say that is exactly what's causing it. If you have tested it, then disregard all of this, you have bigger problems. Later
