Yes, this game is awesome with that card. I could'nt tell you the frame rates or anything like that. But I can certainly tell you that this game really takes advantage of that RIVA TNT card. When you play the game, go into the games options and play with the video changes. You'll be amazed. Electronic Arts really did a good job with NFS III for Riva TNT or 3DFx. Glide will only be retrieved from a 3DFx card (i.e. VooDoo cards).

NFS3 does take advantage of TNT, perhaps for its capability of using large textures, and u'll get to c the dashboard (only with >8MB ram cards)

and this game rocks with even voodoo1 at 640x480 running glide...juz smooth...(never tot voodoo1 still can survive in this new game, tanx to Glide)

NFS 3 is ok with a TNT card, but it's awesome with Voodoo, get either a TNT2 or a voodoo 2/tnt combo for the best of both worlds

Krueger, you can't see the dash in Glide mode with the voodoo based cards, they did not implement it for some reason, I had read it a while ago but don't remember now... That's why NFS3 rocks so much with a TNT... 'cause you can actually see the dash!

Sorry to disagree (somewhat?) but I installed it on a friend's computer that has the Matrox G200/Diamond Voodoo II (12MB). The Diamond is also Glide based (please correct me if I'm wrong). At one point, the dashboard was not showing as well. It turns out that it was because the game was in Widescreen Mode. At the time, I had the game at 800 x 600...

    Hope this works.

    Rickee -
About the dashboard that, whether it will be showed in the game or not, it's from the NFS site I checked some time ago, so, I personally not too sure, unless EA is telling the lies themself.

    Hi All,

Just to clarify, I just visited the NFSIII site and it specifically has an FAQ regarding the use of Voodoo Banshee. It is unable to see the dashboard unless you enable it in D3D mode. Here is the excerpt:

I am using a Voodoo Banshee card and am unable to see the dashboard in the in car view.

    -----

To resolve this issue, you will need to run the game in Direct 3D (D3D) mode. To do this, after the game has been installed, you will need to edit the Need for Speed III icon on your desktop (if there is no shortcut, you will need to create one).

First, right click on the Need for Speed III shortcut select Properties.
Next select the Shortcut tab, then in the Target space, at the end of the path listed there, type -d3d0.

    Example: "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Need For Speed III\nfs3.exe" -d3d0

Once this has been done, run the game from the edited shortcut.

As I stated, I confirmed with my friend that his Monster Voodoo II displays the dashboard (in non Widescreen Mode), as well as my Canapous Voodoo I...

    Best Regards
