Ok Guys I want to join the Sysopt team
Well I finally have a couple of computers that I am willing to run the RC5 client on here at home and want to join the SYSOPT team effort...What do I need to do? any special configuration that I need to do?
1 AMD k6-2 350 @firstname.lastname@example.org
1 celeron 333a @email@example.com
1 Celeron 333a stock
I think I can add a little bit to the effort....Just let me know what I need to do! Thanks
Check out www.sysopt.com/rc5team.html . It should have all the info you need to join the team.
Oh, and when you're setting up your clients, you can set them to use 184.108.40.206 port 8080 as the keyserver and automatically have your stats posted on the SysOpt/Tweakit PProxy website found here:
It's great to have you onboard. Welcome and Happy Cracking.
I forgot I also put it on my "little" pent 100mhz (my file/print server)!
I dont even have a monitor on this system but it runs 24/7...I use pcanywhere to interreact with it.
Will get them all configured to use 220.127.116.11 on port 8080!
If you want, you can also add your cracking computer's stats to the archive.

Wow! your #1 onthe team.... How do I go about putting my computers into the stats? Will it do it automaticly when it does a flush? I have the clients setup to use the SYSopt server as Joel said to.
Mod w/ an attitude
Good luck on winning the $1000 contest.
I got a free Celeron 400A in the Sysopt/TweakIt contest that ended the other month and I can still win the $1000 also.

Thanks for the encourgement Sterling_Aug!
Thats cool you got a free Celeron 400 out of your efforts.
**Remember, I'm hosting another contest, the prizes aren't that great, but it's better than nothin...
Sign up and get info here:
BTW Joel, have you found any of the parts you were going to send? I could still use the AT PS and K5 if you'd be willing to sell them!
With just these two parts, I could contribute another ~350 blocks/day.
Maybe more if the PS can handle the draw!
Mntsnow, the computer stats are seperate from the pproxy stats for the time being. In the future i'll look to see if it's possible to merge the user lists. So for now you have to add yourself to the archive you have to register then enter in the info for each computer.
I might look good being at the top of the archive list, but there are still a lot of ppl that could knock me around if they add there farms to the archive. hint, hint.
Got to see if I can get this P90 up by tonight.
Your computers are already in the stats, last time I looked you were at #51 with 131 blocks.
Here's the stat's page by email:
WOW... This is great! I just finished dumping a feew blocks from my "headless" server and Now I am up to #48!
This is just too cool
I see what your saying...hmmmm I might have enough parts laying around here to get a couple of "headless" systems together (486-66 and pentium 233) These would be only "crunchers"
Will see what I can come up with
I have a few of those running...
All you have to do is:
1) set up a system with a motherboard, CPU, 2MB RAM, and a floppy
2) on a full computer system, format a disk from dos using
format a: /s
this will copy command.com and make a boot sector
3) make an autoexec.bat with this line:
4) download the dos client to your hard drive, then extract it to your floppy
5) using your windows version, download a large amount of blocks and cut and past the file "buff-in.rc5" from the d.net folder to the floppy
6) when you want to flush, remove the disk and put it in your main system, cut and paste "buff-out.rc5" from the floppy to your windows d.net folder and connect to the net - this will flush your blocks
** Make sure you run the dos version from the disk on a computer with a monitor first so you can enter the email address which will be saved to your blocks - if you don't do this first, you won't get credit!!
You can then use the disk over and over, just cut and paste the files buff-in and buff-out
** Don't cut buff-in or buff-out.des this is the wrong file
If you have any more questions, let me know
If I join does my computer have to be online all the time or can it still crack offline and dump the blocks when I'm online?
No it can be offline as long as you want. You just tell the client to download a few hundred blocks (just a kb approx each), and it will stay cracking the blokcs till you go online, when it will send the processed ones, and download fresh blocks.
When you get set up use out proxy server. Instructions on how to use it are at http://18.104.22.168/rc5
