K7 at Last!!!
I finally got my K7 today.
I've added it to the Computer Archive, but don't expect anything great till a client with a K7 core comes out.
Currently it only gets 1.35MKeys/sec while my Celeron 504 gets 1.41MKeys.
The processor is the 550MHz version.
Running the 444b client on it.

Ack!, ah, I just ordered a 500 and was expecting it to crack fast! =), Oh well will a K7 optimized client ever come out?
I still got a few weeks on my K7, Ordered a from Cybermax.

I forgot where I saw it but, I read that different rc5 cores worked differently than others. I remember seeing that a 20% difference was the overall gap.
Try forcing different cores for the best one.

That is true. The P6 core is the fastest on the K7 (weird eh?). So if you are using the K6 core. You could be losing up to 20%. I think I remember seein the K7 500 getting around 1.6Mkeys/sec.

Now getting 1.7MKeys/sec with the P6 core.
I suppose up to 2MKeys/sec will be possible with this processor when a K7 core comes out. Will just have to wait and see.
Anyone recently after browsing through the d.net FTP server found a client with a K7 core?
