Woe

    Re the "Woe" - nevermind!

    I found my Dnet stats!

I hit the link for my email and hope to get my password soon!

Would someone please post Virus pproxy where I should get setup, with instructions if necessary?

Oh, and how often should I update my 500in/out buffers?

    I'm now a rc5 TeamSysOpt Member!

Thanks to all for your help!

    Hello Socalgal:

Welcome to the team. To get on Virus' pproxy, enter config and change the keyserver to:

24.72.9.177 port=8080 and select never fall back.

If you have the client set up for modem lurk, it will automatically fetch/flush whenever you are online. If you are online frequently, no need to have 500 buffers for one machine.

I use an older client to load 1000 buffers at a time but then I have several machines networked to the in/out and they crunch though 600-700 buffer blocks per 24 hours. Thus, I don't use modem lurk. I use the gui and dos v .432 client to do the actual processing as it is faster for me.

The nice thing about Virus' pproxy is that with your first upload, you show up within an hour or so.

One thing to remember, the pproxy uploads to D.Net every twenty minutes so to make the gmt cutoff for the day, you have to upload to the pproxy at least 20 minutes before 00 gmt.

    hi cwizard

I believe I have Virus' pproxy set correctly this time, and the Port 8080 is set.

But, I don't see where option Never Fall Back is... looking at your PPROXY ADDRESS post.. can't find...

    Thanks!

    Hi socalgal:

The never fall back was an option on the .432 gui client and the .417. It may not be an option on the newer clients; I haven't bothered with any since the .432 version since it works fine for me.

I would say, give it a try with just the keyserver and port. It more than likely will work. You will know when you flush because if it isn't set correctly, the blocks won't flush. If it is, you'll see Virus' "...hit the spot" message and the block status message; you'll appear in the stats list about an hour or so later.

    Hope this helps.

You are most welcome. And thanks for cluing me in that the later clients don't have the Never Fall Back parameter. I changed the Pproxy post to hopefully, clear up any confusion.

Yes, I saw your PPROXY edit, and glad to know it's my client version and not me!

I'll say that Joel talked me into keeping my box running 24/7 now so to get more crunching done.. besides when I saw those little KKeys instead of MKeys well... can't have that..

Be sure to put your system or systems in the computer archive, so we can see what you use. You can get to it throught the nave bar on the left of the proxy page stats. Welcome to the team!
