Nooooooooo!

I'm sorry to tell you that the 2 Cceleron 333 machines that I had have gone back to the school. , which means I'll do only about 700 blocks/day now, instead of up to 1400.

And now that I'm back to school on Wednesday, I may even have to switch off these machines and only switch them back on when I come back from school at 4:30PM, so only 8 hours max per day at RC5. Maybe if I can convince the computer teacher in school to leave on all the machines there for about 1 night in a week there may be hope.

A bit of good news: I am ordering an Athlon 550MHz based system tomorrow. Can't get the processors on their own, so a pre-built system is the only way to go. Getting quite a few cool extras with it too, monitor with USB hub, 20GB hdd, 6X dvd, e.t.c.

Hopefully d.net will bring out a client with a K7 core, but for now it should beat my Celeron 504,

So bad news + good news = nothing much.

Well here it's called Secondary school, which is the equivelant to a U.S. High School.

Got a few hundred blocks off them yesterday, but that will fall. There is only 1 computer left to get blocks off, and then they will only be on for classes.

2 week waiting list for my athlon, hope d.net have a K7 core out by then....

Evesham Vale.

U.K. based supplier, but with offices in Ireland too.

They don't integrate things like sound cards in any of their decent systems, and have many awards - PC Plus supplier of the year is one.

And since I couldn't find any Athlons available on their own, getting a syetem was the only way to get one.

FYI (and any other UK people)

AMD Athlon 650Mhz Slot A 512Kb
Mfr Code:K7/650MTR Ordered Upon Request £650.00

http://www.dabs.co.uk

I've used them a couple of times for mail-order and the service is good. Free carriage for internet order last time I looked too.
