    Slow internet access after 4+

Can someone tell why my internet access is real slow when I go online after 3-4 days of running rc5. After I reboot then go online the connection is normal,49-50k with my 56k winmodem. My resource meters all say in the upper 80's. BTW I have aol as my isp. Thanks

Thanks for the reply, that is exactly what happens to my computer too. Never blamed the rc5. Just wanting to confirm that the situation is common enough and the solution is to reboot prior to going online or to reboot the system just to freshen up the computer. I think a previous post stated the same solution.

    I also have AOL,

The AOL client doen not release all resources, once closed. My connection varies from 48000-49333, with my winmodem. But I mostly get the 48000. With or without rc5.

Now if I do not reboot after going online 2 times or more, I will show a connection of 48000 but my transfers are terrible. Even locks up at times.

I would not blame the rc5 client unless you are using a very old version.

You may consider simply rebooting after going on-line and trying this to see if the problem persists.

well since its a winmodem, and a winmodem uses some of the peripherals in the comp, including you cpu, to dialup, its may be that rc5 is wearing your cpu, then your cpu not being able to give the modem what it wants or sumthin like that...
