    Installing Client

    Im New to Linux and downloaded a client. Its in .gz format, how do I install it, i have Redhat 5.2

    I suggest creating a directory like /opt/rc5des , but you can put it wherever you want. Copy the file to the directory. I'm assuming here that you're using this file rc5des-linux-x86-mt-glibc21.tar.gz .

    Just type the following from the download directory:
    cp rc5des-linux-x86-mt-glibc21.tar.gz /opt/rc5des
    tar -xvcf rc5des-linux-x86-mt-glibc21.tar.gz


    Then, to run it, type ./rc5des

    You'll need to do a config the first time, and that is done by typing ./rc5des -config
