No internet connection!

I have another computer that could crunch if I could get the buffers loaded. I can't get online with this machine so could I load the buffer from another "online" machine? Just
move around buff-in.rc5 and buff-out.rc5?
Could it be that simple?

Yes, it is that easy. Just be careful not to overwrite either file if there are still blocks in them. But yes, I've done this several times.

martin777: Did you know that you would have a network if you did it this way......It is called a sneaker net!

Because you would wear out several pairs of sneakers running the floppy back and forth between computers.

I ran a 3rd system this way until I replaced the cable on my network, but like Joel said, you need to be careful not to overwrite the files if they still ahve blocks in them. I lost quite a few blocks when I wasn't paying attention.

I know the feeling, Joel is catching up to me, on the PProxy, very fast!

Of course, on Distributed's stats I am no where near catching him.

Oh well, I will pass up CVN soon on Team stats!

I am sure cwiz will pass me this week. I have the sneaker network. Have 8 cpu's at work cracking and usually dump them about every 5 days or so. I just rename the buffouts like buffout.rc51 rc52 etc, that way I know which ones are done

izzzy12k: Of course I am NOT quitting the team.......I just wanted to see if Joel would like to "buy" my blocks. LOL

I currently have almost 203,000 block submitted and I should have machine #4 online in a week or two, then next month (after I get to my new job) I will add as many machines at work as I can. I want to get up to 2,000 blocks per day if I can.

Hmmm.... What are your prices per 1k blocks? Probably out of my price range.

I spose I'll just add another 450 MHz Celeron and just be happy with that. Gotta catch Izzy12k. I wonder if I added a hundred PCs, if I could catch Izzy any faster?

Oh, and I've still got to catch back up with Radocon who just recently stole my #3 spot overall on the team.

I think by the time you got 50 online I'd be long behind you.

Hey Krueger, are you sending blocks to the PPRoxy?

if not, set your client to use 24.72.9.177 port 8080 as your keyserver.
